Bar chocolat, our temples to all things chocolatey, are in Bristol’s leafy Clifton Village and close to Bath’s picturesque Pulteney Bridge.

Bar chocolat gives you the chance to immerse yourself in a total chocolate experience with handmade cakes and desserts, along with wickedly indulgent hot chocolate, delicious coffee, cooling summer drinks and ice cream.

Our speciality at bar chocolat is our stunning range of hot chocolate. We only use real chocolate – there’s not a packet of powdered cocoa in sight – which we grate and then blend with fresh, steaming milk.

In addition to dark or milk hot chocolate, we offer a comforting alternative made with creamy white chocolate. Our Ultimate Hot Chocolate is a blend of white, dark and milk chocolate topped with whipped cream. Bar chocolat’s Chocolate Shot is our take on coffee espresso: chose a shot of house, dark or white chocolate, melted in a little hot water to drink neat, without milk. All of our hot chocolates can be topped with chocolate curls and marshmallows. We also serve coffee which is roasted locally by Bristol’s coffee expert, Brian Wogan.

In the spring and summer, you may like to try one of our iced chocolate drinks – made with same high quality chocolate as our hot chocolates, we add chilled milk and serve with cooling cubes of ice to help you to refresh.

Our cakes and ice creams are handmade at our café-shop in Bath. Our selection of ice creams includes White Chocolate & Blueberry Cheesecake, Coconut Fudge, Lemon Curd & Dark Chocolate, Chocolate Brownie & Marshmallow and Cookies & Cream.

Cakes include White Chocolate Cheesecake, Bitter Truffle Chocolate Torte, Pecan Tart and Mississippi Mud Pie. We always have three types of cookies for you to try and two varieties of brownies.

All of our cakes are available to buy whole to take away for a special occasion. With a couple of days’ notice, we can also decorate your cake to your specification, for example, with a Congratulations or Happy Birthday message.

Each bar chocolat also stocks a wide selection from the James Chocolates range as well as the seasonal treats that we create during the year.
